Staging Solutions

Whenever there are more homes for Toronto homes for sale than there are buyers looking for them, we have a situation known as a "buyer's market." In big thriving metropolises like Toronto and New York City, buyer's markets are rare. But here in Lexington, this type of situation occurs fairly frequently. Therefore if you're going to sell a home here you need to think about what you can do to your property to give you an edge over other buyers. Staging is often your best option.

When you stage a home, you arrange the interior to be cozy and welcoming but also impersonal and uncluttered, allowing the buyer to see the potential in the place without having to use his or her imagination. Ajax homes that are staged usually look like pages from a catalog, with bland but appealing decor and colors chosen to compliment the room rather than the color and pattern preferences of the decorator.

It is possible to stage a home yourself. You'll have to be fairly ruthless with your belongings, putting most of your personal items such as photos and artwork in storage along with much of your furniture, as people tend to have an inflated sense of their Oakville homes being magazine worthy when they're really not. Take your inspiration from furniture catalogs, magazines, and home decorating shows and repaint, redecorate, and rent furniture to achieve the look you want.

Of course, not everyone is capable of separating themselves from their properties like that, and that's okay. If you're one of these people, you'll need to seek professional help from a staging company if you want to compete with the other properties. To find one, simply ask a friend, neighbor, or coworker who has recently sold their property on the Bradford real estate listings for a recommendation. You can also find stagers in the yellow pages or ask your realtor who he or she likes to work with.

The one thing you don't want to do is ignore staging altogether and assume you don't need it or that it doesn't matter in the long run, because it does. A condo for sale in Plano, TX that has been stages is more likely to attract buyers for a viewing, more likely to attract offers on the property, and will sell for more when the negotiations are finished. So don't hobble yourself by clinging to your old furniture. Stage and get the best deal for your property.
